We are a small group of people keen to acquire a working knowledge of Spanish despite not having access to a teacher fluent in the language. The leader does, however, have a degree in French and Italian which, like Spanish, are Romance languages derived from Latin, and this is an advantage for what is essentially a self help group in the best tradition of U3A.

We are using as the basis for our study of the language "Talk Spanish - the ideal course for absolute beginners" (a text book with 2 accompanying CDs) produced by the BBC. The leader has also come across an easy reader designed for students of the language just starting out and copies of this are distributed to members of the group.

We have room in the group for two more participants.
