Coffee Lounge, Manvers Street Baptist Church

Our friendly group have been researching their family histories on-line for several years.

Are you interested in researching your own family tree or find out more about those dusty photographs or papers on your ancestors stored in your loft?

We have a flexible agenda with our main aim being to help each other with research.

We encourage members to give short prepared talks during the sessions with interactive discussions from others.

Some of us use subscription sites (such as Ancestry and Find My Past) and discuss their various features. There are also many free genealogy sites which we also use and can recommend for anyone thinking of starting their family tree. In addition some of our members are familiar with DNA and are happy to demonstrate its benefits and provide advice.

We are very happy to help novices get started but must warn you, it can be addictive!

Prior to the pandemic we met at Widcombe Social Club, a five minute walk from Bath railway station. More recently we have had virtual meetings using zoom but hope to return to a venue where we can meet socially.

We would welcome enquiries from interested members. If you'd like more information, u3a members can contact us via the details in the members’ newsletter. Non-members can email us at:
