WHEN:
10.30 am - Second and fourth Thursday of the month
WHERE:
Manvers St Baptist Church

We have a membership of 20 (but are having to restrict attendance to 15 at the moment due to Covid). We meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each month with breaks at Christmas, Easter and over the summer.

We discuss current items in the news; an advance list of topics is usually sent round but members can raise anything they want on the day. Items have ranged from the German Elections to the situation in Poland to Energy Policy. Occasionally members give a talk on a country on which they have special knowledge and we have sometimes had outside guest speakers.

An ongoing topic at the moment is tracking the progress of major bills announced in the Queen’s Speech. Post Brexit we agreed we wanted to continue to review affairs in Europe, often overlooked in UK media. During Lockdown, we continued to meet on Zoom but have re-started face-to-face meetings following all social distancing and ventilation policy at Manvers St.

This is an informal, friendly group and we welcome new members. If you'd like more information, u3a members can contact our convenor, via the details in the members’ newsletter. Non‑members can email us at:
