Welcome to the Active Adventurers Group

What have you always wanted to do and were perhaps afraid to try, or not had time or the opportunity to "give it a go"? Well, with our group you may get your chance. You may not be able to do every activity for good reason. For example you might not like heights, be claustrophobic or can't participate for medical reasons but don't let that put you off joining in. You can pick the activities that you fancy and for others you might like to come along and encourage those participating. If you look at our bucket list you will see that it already contains a very wide and varied range from scary adventures to more gentle events. We shall try to achieve a balanced programme in which there is something for everyone.

We are aiming to do at least one adventure a month. The actual dates will be determined by the organisers who will be trying to find the most suitable ones. Adventures will be indoors and outdoors and will continue all year. We don't plan to have a summer break as we want to make the most of the British summer for outdoor adventures.

"If you never did you should.
These things are fun and fun is good."

Pamela Galloway
After abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth with the Extreme Visits group of Weston Turville U3A, Pamela Galloway decided to set up a similar group in Bath. The Active Adventurers was formed in 2015 and for the first activity there were just 4 members - now there are over 80.

In memory of Pamela and her love of life and adventure, we will continue to undertake age-inapproriate activities whenever we can.
